This week my role as Ambassador for Team High Sheriff GMP, Had me singing a bespoke ‘Happy Birthday’ to Dr Carl Austin-Behan, advisor to the Mayor of Manchester. In the style of Marilyn Monroe singing to the president, or at least that’s what I felt like and clearly look nothing like her! 🙂

I loved it though, he’s such a gentleman and was minding his own business in the middle of the seminar when I took to the stage and got everybody joining in.

Being a singer is more than just that.

To make a lasting impression you have to be able to communicate with people and connect on all levels.

There’s nothing worse than a singer being all about themselves and singing vocal acrobatics without connecting with the people. You may as well have a jukebox on in the corner.

Making people feel special, creating lasting memories for people you’ve never met before. People feel emotions and music creates atmosphere, the two connect and this is what people talk about when they leave a party, conference, seminar or special event.
